The FBI, Chelsea, Boston and State Police arrest nineteen in morning raids

The Chelsea Police Department announced that a series of early morning raids netted nineteen (19) arrests including twelve (12) for Federal Indictment Warrants. Many of those arrested face up to twenty (20) year prison terms for narcotic and firearm violations. The twelve month investigation under the direction of the FBI named “Operation Royal Ruin” targeted the criminal activity of Latin King Gang operating out of Chelsea and Boston. The investigation targeted gun and narcotic trafficking, as well as numerous violent crimes.

According to Chief Brian A. Kyes, “The Chelsea Police Department will continue to conduct these operations that target this very dangerous element.” He added, “The Department has prioritized focused enforcement on these repeat offenders and will continue to work with our Federal and State partners in this aggressive pursuit to make Chelsea safer”.
