Chelsea High track star Norbert Simon competed at the Eastern Mass. Division II Meet held at Bridgewater State College last weekend. Simon made it to the finals in the 200 meter dash where he ran a 23.83 to earn a medal and score a point for Chelsea. (The scoring is 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.) Norbert also jumped 18′ 10″ in the long jump and missed medaling by just four inches.
Next Monday and Tuesday, Red Devil tracksters Simon, Santos Hernandez, Joseph Arroyo, Hector Mendoza, Juan Achar, and Walter Cortez will be competing in the decathlon at Burlington High School.
