Robert Daviaux

Of Florida, formerly of Chelsea

Robert D. Daviaux of Port Charlotte, Florida, formerly of Chelsea, died on April 27. He was 70 years old.

A US Army veteran, he was the beloved husband of Carolyn P. (Donovan) Daviaux with whom he shared 50 years of marriage, the loving father of Michelle C. Miles and her husband, David of Florida; adored grandfather of Kerri and Cody; cherished son of the late Elizabeth (Mercurio) Daviaux Fusco and Samuel Fusco of Revere; dear brother of Margaret E. Hegan and her husband, Paul of West Peabody and David J. Daviaux of Melrose.

Dr. Gerald Sowsy

Dentist

Dr. Gerald Sowsy of Revere, formerly of Chestnut Hill and Sunapee, NH, passed away on April 29. He was 84 years old.

Dr. Sowsy was born in Boston and raised in Chelsea. He graduated the New Preparatory School, Cambridge in 1946, Harvard University, class of 1950 and the University of Pennsylvania School of Dentistry, class of 1955. Dr. Sowsy had his own dental practice in Newton Center for many years.

He was a Captain in the United States Air Force following the Korean War, a member of the Alpha and Omega Dental Society and the Massachusetts Dental Society.

He was the beloved husband of Shirley (Hoffman) Sowsy for 62 years; the devoted father of Gail Katz and her husband, Dr. Steven Katz, Craig Sowsy and his wife, Amy and Marjorie Boyle and her husband, Terence; the loving son of the late Henry and Lena Sowsy,  the dear brother of Dr. Paul Sowsy and his wife, Sabina and  the loving grandfather of Tracey, Michael, Allison, Bradley, Colin and Caitlin. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Theresa Kennedy

Revere Homemaker

Theresa L. (Tarallo) Kennedy of Revere died on April 26. She was 61 years old.

Born in Chicago, she was the loving mother of Lisa A. Kennedy of Revere and Brigit M. Kennedy of Chelsea, the dear sister of Margaret Y. Parr of Beverly and the late Thomas and Timothy Tarallo, sister-in-law of Ernest Sacco, cherished grandmother of Santi K. Rigano, Shay and Piper McDonald and aunt of Joseph Tarallo.

William Bishop

Past Grand Knight of Chelsea K of C

William F. Bishop of Chelsea died on April 28 at the Golden Living Center-Dexter House in Malden after a courageous nine month battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 62 years old.

Born in Boston and a graduate of Chelsea High School, Class of 1968, during his working years in banking, he was VP of loan collections and was a member and past Grand Knight of the Chelsea K of C Council #83.

He was the husband of Christine M. (Hanson); devoted son of Lillian F. (Babineau) Bishop of Chelsea and the late Francis R. Bishop; beloved father of David H. Bishop of Peabody; dear brother of Francis Bishop and his wife, Elaine of Middleton, Donna Domelowicz and her husband, Joseph of Myrtle Beach, SC, Robert H. Bishop and his wife, Ann of Chelsea and Beverly Henry and her husband, Michael of Revere. He is also lovingly survived by his grandson Cameron Francis Bishop as well as by many nieces and nephews.

Samuel Hagopian

US Air Force veteran

Samuel “Sam” Hagopian of Revere died on April 25. He was 80 years old.

A US Airforce veteran of the Vietnam and Korean Conflicts with 40 years of service, he was born in Chelsea and was the beloved husband of the late Placidia (Rivero-Ruiz) Hagopian, the devoted father of Victoria Rose of Revere and Samuel Hagopian and his wife, Maryann of Everett; brother of the late Rose Menasian and John Hagopian; cherished grandfather of Jenna DeRose and great-grandfather of Sarah and Joseph Baker.

Paul W. Keeley of Everett, formerly of Malden, died on April 22.

A US Army veteran and a manager for a metal company, he was the cherished son of the late William V. and Florence M. (Currie) Keeley; loving brother of Florence Demetrio and her husband, Salvatore of Chelsea and the late Leo A. Campbell and his wife, Florence of Florida; dear uncle of six nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews.

Donald ‘Ducky’ Sullivan

Retired Assembler for Keene Lighting;  worked at Rockingham Park Race Track

Donald F. “Ducky” Sullivan of Salem, NH, formerly of Chelsea and Everett, died Friday at the Lahey Clinic, Burlington. He was 86 years old.

Born in Wilmington, he grew up and was educated in Chelsea, he lived in Everett and was a resident of Salem, NH for the past 28 years. Ducky was an assembler for Keene Lighting in Wilmington and also worked part time at Rockingham Park Race Track in Salem.

A US Army veteran of World War II,  Ducky loved horse racing at Rockingham Park and enjoyed hanging out at Dunkin Donuts with his friends.

He is survived by his wife, Concetta (Sorrentino) “Tina” Sullivan of Salem, NH; daughter, Patty and her husband, Lou Lombard of Methuen; brothers, Owen and his wife, Mary Sullivan of Hampstead, NH and Richard Sullivan of Peabody; sister, Geraldine Familetti of Wilmington; grandchildren, Chris and Jon Lombard; great grandchildren, Ayden and Abby and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated at Mary Queen of Peace Church, Salem, NH. Cremation followed. Arrangements were entrusted to the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home,  Salem, NH. Edward J. Trainor, Jr. of Amherst, NH, formerly of East Boston, died on April 24.
