Chelsea High School director of athletics Frank DePatto is inviting the community to attend a dedication ceremony in honor of the late Arnold Goodman, a long-time and beloved Chelsea teacher, coach and Voice of the CHS Red Devils, on Wednesday, Sept. 18 at 6 p.m. at the Chelsea High School cafeteria.

During the ceremony school officials will name the press box at Chelsea Memorial Stadium the “Arnold Goodman Press Box.”

“We’re pleased to honor Arnold Goodman and pay tribute to his contributions to our school and our city in this manner,” said DePatto. “It’s an honor for us to recognize his many years of association with the Chelsea High School sports program. He was a gentleman and a scholar and was very supportive of the student-athletes in Chelsea.”

DePatto said the Chelsea High football team will be dedicating its season to Mr. Goodman and the players will be wearing the initials “AG” on their helmets.

“It’s a great tribute to Mr. Goodman, who has been a tremendous fixture here in the city of Chelsea as a coach, an educator, and the Voice of the Red Devils,” said CHS head coach Mike Stellato. “We truly appreciate what he gave to the program and I feel it’s a great honor to wear these decals on our helmets and also with the dedication of the press box to Mr. Goodman.”
