Chelsea Death Believed Homicide

A Revere woman found suffering from serious injuries on Broadway early Tuesday morning has died and authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying her assailant.

Michelle Dauwer, 45, most recently of Constitution Avenue in Revere, was found dead and her death is being treated as a homicide by investigators.

Chelsea Police responded to the area of Broadway and Congress Avenue just after 1 a.m. Tuesday morning for a report of a woman lying in the street. Civilian witnesses told police that the woman had been walking from the direction of nearby Everett Avenue when she fell to the ground.

Emergency medical technicians rushed her to Massachusetts General Hospital, where she died later Tuesday morning.

Her death is now being investigated as a homicide. Chelsea Police detectives and homicide detectives assigned to the Suffolk County State Police Detective Unit are leading that investigation. They are assisted by the State Police Crime Scene Services Section and other specialized units.
