Charles Gird
Of Wakefield, formerly of Chelsea
Charles W. Gird of Wakefield, formerly of Chelsea, died on September 9.
A US Air Force veteran of the Korean War, he was the beloved husband of JoAnne C. (Siders); devoted father of Carl Gird, Charles Gird Jr. and his wife, Sara, Dianna L. Wakaf, Anthony Gird, Lisa Paradis and her husband, Mark and Jodi Gird-Rodriguez; cherished grandfather of nine and great grandfather of five; loving brother of Joanne C. Kane; dear brother in law of Barbara Sidorowicz and Bobby and Vicky Siders.
Funeral arrangements were by The Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, So. Boston. Interment was at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. In lieu of flowers, we request donations be made payable to The Fisher House, PO Box 230, South Walpole, MA 02071. Charlie’s family would like to thank the Palliative Care Team from W. Roxbury VA Hospital.

Joseph Rizzo
Revere DPW retiree
Joseph A. Rizzo of Revere died on October 1 at the West Revere Nursing Center. He was 90 years old.
Born in Boston and a US Navy veteran of World War II, for many years, Joe worked for the City of Revere, Department of Public Works.
He was the beloved husband of the late Marie (Sciarappa) devoted father of Janice Speranza and her late husband, Mario, Judy Minicleri and her husband, Larry, John and his wife, Stacey and Joyce Rizzo all of Revere. He was predeceased by a grandson, the late John Speranza and is also survived by six loving grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
